How to Use A Tushkit

Get your Tushkit Changing Mat ready!

The first thing to do is to adjust the width of the “pop-up” sides to the right size to gently cradle your baby. This is done by opening out the Tushkit and adjusting the Velcro panels on the base (pic 1), this allows adjustment from approximately 20cm to 30cm across.


Next, you need to “load” the nappies, to do this, each nappy must be fully opened including the waist fasteners.  Lay the first nappy in the Tushkit with the crotch part towards the baby wipe holder (in use, the childs head will rest on the pillow). Attach the waist fasteners to the innermost velcro straps on each side of the Tushkit (pic 2). Load up to 3 further nappies in the same way, each using the next innermost velcro strap on the side panels of the Tushkit.



Push a pack of baby wipes into the pocket (pic 3). Baby wipes with either a hard or soft plastic flap closures can be used but remember to retain the soft plastic closure to ensure the wipes don’t dry out.


A tube of nappy cream can be pushed through the elasticated strap (pic 3) – Nappy cream tubes with a flip-top are best because they can be used one handed.

There's space either side of the baby wipe pack to push in some nappy sacks.

And that’s it, your Tushkit is ready!

Using your Tushkit Changing Mat.

Open the Tushkit and put it on a secure surface, place your baby on the Tushkit with their head on the pillow and their feet towards the pack of baby wipes, ensure that the side panels comfortably cradle your little ones waist.

Change your baby as you normally would, keeping the soiled nappy underneath your little one whilst cleaning to avoid soiling the new nappy underneath.

Clean your baby using the baby wipes, then once your baby is clean, you can take away the soiled nappy.

Apply nappy cream if required , you don’t need to take the tube of cream out of the Tushkit, simply flip open the top of the tube with your thumb and press the tube to squeeze the cream onto a finger.

Lift the new nappy up between your babys legs and release the waist fasteners by gently pulling outwards on the velcro straps attached to the side panels of the Tushkit and fasten the nappy as normal

Lift your baby from the Tushkit and you are done!

Fold the Tushkit up again and fasten with the Velcro strap and it’s all ready for next time!
